How it works

  • You make a booking for a time slot and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We’re then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?

Selecting the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want to conceal valuables out of sight?

Based on your answers to these questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to pick the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it protects from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let us explain how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today have tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the least expensive product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The greatest tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
