How it works

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around a week to allow them to dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Which window tint shade is right for your car?

Choosing the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for style and looks?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want cover up valuables from view?

From your answers to the questions our fully trained professionals can help you to pick the correct shade. Below are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s explain how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of cars produced today have tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the cheapest product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The best tint available, offered as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, does not affect radio reception and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
