What we do

  • You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
  • We may need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then recieve payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Which window tint shade is right for your vehicle?

Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables from view?

From your responses to those questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to select the right shade. Below are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and does add some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers complete privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We’re often asked about this. To start with, let us explain how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The most superior tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio reception and gives the best temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
