How it works
- You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it keep valuables from sight?
Based on your responses to these questions our fully trained professionals can help you to pick the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows can we tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles made today come with tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy,respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio reception and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
