What we do

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • When the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least a week so that they can dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

Which window tint shade is right for your car?

Choosing the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want to conceal valuables out of view?

Using your responses to these questions our qualified specialists can help you to pick the correct shade. Below are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat and does add some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles made today come with tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not first class, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The most superior tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio signals and provides the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
