Our process

  • You book a time slot and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • When the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for around a week so that they can completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it to conceal valuables from sight?

Using your responses to the questions our trained specialists can help you to choose the right shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it protects from UV rays, heat and provides absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re often asked about this. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the least expensive product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signals and gives the most temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
