What we do

  • You book a time slot and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We may need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it cover up valuables out of sight?

Based on your responses to these questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to select the right shade. These are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and offers absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re often asked about this. Firstly, let’s describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the least expensive product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The most superior tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signals and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
