How it works

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • When the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around a week so that they can completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

What window tint shade is right for your car?

Choosing the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want cover up valuables out of sight?

Based on your responses to those questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to choose the correct shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and provides complete privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s describe how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars produced today have tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the cheapest tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The finest tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio signal and provides the most temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
