How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least a week to allow them to completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want keep valuables from sight?
Using your responses to those questions our trained specialists can help you to choose the correct shade. Below are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.

They’ve come out and installed the tints, but due to the weather being bad, there were some issues with the tint and some air got underneath the tints. When I informed them about it, they were quick to come out and resolve the issue, even though it was freezing and raining outside. Would definitely hire them again for more tinting jobs.

Which car windows are we able to tint?
We’re often asked about this. Firstly, let’s describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy,respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The best tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio reception and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
