Tinting car windows on your own, can be a real hassle, choosing the right shade, brand, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Taking your car to be tinted locally can often be a real burden as well, having to take some time off work, or having no vehicle for many hours waiting for it to be completed, is often not possible.

At Tinted we are 100% mobile, and we cover the whole of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Dordon and local areas. So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.

We can also provide both tinted & vinyl sun strips, light tints, roof and bonnet vinyl wraps, and interior wraps.

Our process

  • You make a booking for a time slot and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to power.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around a week to allow them to dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We can then recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is right for your vehicle?

Choosing the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want keep valuables from view?

Based on your answers to these questions our fully trained specialists can help you to select the correct shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and provides total privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let us describe how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not first class, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The greatest tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signal and gives the most UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
