Our process

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • When the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
  • We’re then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is right for your car?

Choosing the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it cover up valuables out of sight?

Using your responses to these questions our qualified professionals can help you to select the correct shade. Below are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and gives absolute privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We are regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a good option, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The best tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio signal and gives the best temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
