What we do

  • You book a time slot and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to power.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
  • We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • When the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We are then able to recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is right for your vehicle?

Selecting the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables from view?

From your answers to those questions our fully trained specialists can help you to select the right shade. Below are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road until you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The best tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signal and gives the most UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
