Tinting car windows by yourself, can often be a real pain, choosing the best shade, brand, and even just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be problematic! Driving your car to be tinted locally can often be a hassle too, needing to take some time off work, or having no car for several hours waiting for it to be completed, is often a big inconvenience.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and can cover all of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Fenton and surrounding areas. So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you a lot of time or precious holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for all the tinting work we do.

We can also offer both tinted and vinyl sun strips, headlight tints, roof and bonnet wraps, and interior wraps.

Our process

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is right for you?

Selecting the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it keep valuables out of view?

Based on your responses to these questions our trained specialists can help you to choose the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and provides total privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of vehicles produced today come with tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may nullify your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we will not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The finest tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signal and gives the best temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
