Tinting your car windows on your own, can often be a disaster waiting to happen, selecting the right shade, brand, and also just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be problematic! Taking your vehicle to be tinted locally can often be a hassle too, having to take some time off work, or losing your car for several hours waiting for it to be finished, is often very inconvenient.
At Tinted we’re completely mobile, and can cover the whole of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Bartley Green and surrounding areas. So we will come to your workplace or home, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for all the tinting work we do.
We are able to provide both tinted and vinyl sun strips, headlight tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around a week to allow them to completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Selecting the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Is the tint to make you car look great?
- Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want to conceal valuables out of view?
From your answers to those questions our fully trained specialists can help you to choose the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and provides complete privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars made today come with tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
This tends to be the least expensive product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.
The finest tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio reception and gives the best temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
