How it works

  • You book a time slot and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around a week to allow them to completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

What window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Selecting the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want cover up valuables out of sight?

Using your answers to these questions our qualified professionals can help you to pick the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and offers absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars made today have tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The best tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio reception and provides the best UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
