What we do

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to power.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We could need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

What window tint shade is right for you?

Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for style and looks?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it keep valuables out of sight?

Using your responses to those questions our fully trained professionals can help you to pick the right shade. These are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let us describe how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today have tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to have your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the least expensive product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The best tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio reception and gives the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
