How it works

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
  • We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days so that they can dry fully, this preserves the edge of the tint.
  • We’re then able to take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Which window tint shade is right for you?

Choosing the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it keep valuables from view?

Using your responses to these questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to choose the right shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let us explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of cars made today have tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the cheapest tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The most superior tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio reception and gives the best UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
