Tinting your car windows yourself, can often be a real hassle, selecting the best shade, brand, and also just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be very difficult! Driving your vehicle to have the tint applied at a local garage can often be a real burden too, having to take time off work, or having no vehicle for several hours waiting for it to be finished, is often a big inconvenience.

At Tinted we are 100% mobile, and can cover all of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Luston and nearby towns. So we will come to your workplace or home, saving you a lot of time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for every tinting job we do.

How it works

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We may need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least a week to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
  • We’re then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is right for your car?

Selecting the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want to conceal valuables out of view?

From your responses to these questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to pick the right shade. These are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it protects from heat, UV rays and provides complete privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The best tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio reception and gives the best UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
