Our process

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least a week to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

Which window tint shade is right for your vehicle?

Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it keep valuables from sight?

Using your responses to those questions our trained professionals can help you to pick the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and gives absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles made today come with tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.

If you choose to have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the least expensive product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The most superior tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio and provides the most UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
