Our process

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for around a week to allow them to dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want cover up valuables out of view?

From your answers to those questions our trained specialists are able to help you to choose the right shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let us describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars the come from the factory today have tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the cheapest tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, does not affect radio signals and gives the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
