Our process

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to power.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
  • We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
  • We’re then able to take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it cover up valuables from sight?

Using your answers to these questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to choose the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let us explain how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the least expensive product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signals and gives the best temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
