What we do
- You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for around a week so that they can dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is right for your car?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it to conceal valuables from sight?
Based on your responses to the questions our qualified specialists can help you to choose the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars the come from the factory today have tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you choose to get your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.
The most superior tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
