Our process
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days so that they can dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We are then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Choosing the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint to make you car look great?
- Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?

Based on your responses to these questions our fully trained professionals can help you to choose the right shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.

They’ve come out and installed the tints, but due to the weather being bad, there were some issues with the tint and some air got underneath the tints. Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are often asked about this. To start with, let’s describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the cheapest tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The finest tint available, offered as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signal and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
