How it works

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We may need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • After the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
  • We’re then able to recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Selecting the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want to conceal valuables from sight?

Using your responses to these questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to choose the correct shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat and does add some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles produced today come with tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we will not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the cheapest tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The greatest tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio signals and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
