Tinting your car windows by yourself, can often be a disaster waiting to happen, choosing the best shade, brand, and even just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be problematic! Taking your vehicle to have the tint applied at a local garage can be a hassle as well, needing to take time off work, or having no car for several hours while you wait for it to be completed, is often not possible.

At Tinted we are completely mobile, and we cover the whole of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Penkhull and nearby towns. So we will come to your workplace or home, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for every tinting job we do.

We can also offer both tinted and sun strips, car light tints, bonnet & roof vinyl wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.

How it works

  • You book a time slot and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We could need to detach the door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • When the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for at least a week to allow them to completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Choosing the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables out of view?

Using your answers to these questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to choose the right shade. These are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and gives total privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars made today come with tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio and gives the best temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
