Taking your car to have the tint applied at a local garage can be a hassle as well, needing to take some time off work, or having no vehicle for many hours while you wait for it to be finished, is often a big inconvenience.

How it works

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We could need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We are then able to recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?

Choosing the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want to conceal valuables from view?

Using your answers to the questions our trained specialists can help you to pick the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and gives complete privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s explain how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles made today have tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the cheapest tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The most superior tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio signal and gives the most UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
