Our process
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around a week to allow them to dry fully, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We can then recieve payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables out of sight?
Based on your responses to the questions our fully trained professionals can help you to select the correct shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and gives complete privacy.

They’ve come out and installed the tints, but due to the weather being bad, there were some issues with the tint and some air got underneath the tints. When I informed them about it, they were quick to come out and resolve the issue, even though it was freezing and raining outside. Would definitely hire them again for more tinting jobs.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we will not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not first class, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The best tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signal and gives the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
