What we do
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around 7 days so that they can dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We can then accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

They’ve come out and installed the tints, but due to the weather being bad, there were some issues with the tint and some air got underneath the tints. Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you use?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This is often found be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint available, offered as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio reception and gives the most UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
