Tinting your car windows on your own, can often be a real hassle, choosing the right shade, brand, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be a real pain! Driving your vehicle to have the tint applied at a local garage can be a real burden too, having to take time off work, or having no car for several hours waiting for it to be finished, is often not possible.

At Tinted we are completely mobile, and we cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Acocks Green and surrounding areas. So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for all the tinting work we do.

We are able to offer both tinted & vinyl sun strips, car light tints, roof and bonnet wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.

How it works

  • You book a time slot and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

What window tint shade is right for you?

Selecting the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it cover up valuables out of view?

From your responses to these questions our fully trained professionals can help you to choose the right shade. These are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today have tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we will not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the cheapest tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The best tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio signals and provides the best UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
