How it works

  • You book a time slot and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • When the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
  • We can then recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?

Selecting the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want cover up valuables out of sight?

Using your answers to the questions our fully trained professionals can help you to choose the right shade. These are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers complete privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of cars produced today come with tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you choose to have your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we will not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The best tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio reception and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
