What we do

  • You book a time slot and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
  • We could need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • When the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around a week so that they can dry fully, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Selecting the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it keep valuables from view?

Based on your responses to these questions our fully trained specialists can help you to choose the correct shade. Here are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and offers complete privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let us describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may nullify your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The most superior tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, does not affect radio signal and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
