What we do

  • You book a time slot and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to power.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • After the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

What window tint shade is right for your car?

Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want to conceal valuables from sight?

Based on your responses to these questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to choose the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and provides absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re often asked about this. To start with, let’s describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of cars produced today come with tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the least expensive product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not first class, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The finest tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signal and provides the best UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
