How it works

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for around a week to allow them to completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Which window tint shade is right for you?

Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for style and looks?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables from view?

From your answers to the questions our fully trained professionals can help you to select the right shade. These are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are asked this question many times. To start with, let us explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars produced today have tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.

If you choose to have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint available, offered as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio reception and gives the best temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
