Tinting car windows by yourself, can often be a disaster waiting to happen, selecting the right brand, shade, and also just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be problematic! Driving your car to have the tint applied at a local garage can often be a hassle too, needing to take the time off work, or be without your car for several hours while you wait for it to be finished, is often not possible.

At Tinted we’re completely mobile, and we can cover all of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Berkswell and local areas. So we will come to your workplace or home, saving you time or precious holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.

We can also offer both tinted and vinyl sun strips, light tints, roof and bonnet wraps, and interior wraps.

How it works

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least a week to allow them to completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is right for you?

Selecting the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for style and looks?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it to conceal valuables from view?

Based on your responses to the questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to choose the correct shade. Here are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and provides total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars made today come with tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the least expensive product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The finest tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signal and gives the best UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
