How it works
- You book a time slot and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- Once the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around a week so that they can completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Selecting the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables from view?
From your responses to the questions our qualified professionals can help you to select the correct shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it protects from heat, UV rays and provides total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are often asked about this. To start with, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles produced today come with tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you choose to get your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
This is often found be the cheapest tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.
The finest tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio reception and provides the best UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
