Tinting car windows yourself, is often a real pain, selecting the best shade, brand, and even just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be very difficult! Taking your car to have the tint applied at a local garage can be a hassle too, needing to take the time off work, or having no car for many hours waiting for it to be completed, is often not possible.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and can cover the whole of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Walsall Wood and local areas. So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you time or precious holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for every tinting job we do.

We can also offer both tinted & vinyl sun strips, light tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.

How it works

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • When the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around a week so that they can dry fully, this preserves the edge of the tint.
  • We can then accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?

Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it cover up valuables from view?

Using your answers to the questions our trained specialists are able to help you to select the right shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re often asked about this. Firstly, let us describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars made today come with tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we will not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the least expensive product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The most superior tint available, provided as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signal and gives the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
