Tinted mobile car window tinting in Comberton offers an all in one car window tinting service. Tinting car windows yourself, can often be a disaster waiting to happen, selecting the right shade, brand, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Taking your vehicle to have the tint applied locally can be a real burden too, having to take time off work, or losing your car for many hours while you wait for it to be completed, is often very inconvenient.

At Tinted we are 100% mobile, and can cover the whole of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Comberton and nearby towns. So we will come to your workplace or home, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.

We are able to offer both tinted & sun strips, headlight tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.

How it works

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • Once the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around a week so that they can dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to recieve payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

What window tint shade is right for your car?

Choosing the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it keep valuables from view?

Based on your answers to those questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to select the right shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The best tint available, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio reception and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
