Tinting your car windows on your own, can be a real pain, selecting the right brand, shade, and also just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be very difficult! Taking your car to be tinted locally can be a real burden as well, needing to take time off work, or losing your car for many hours while you wait for it to be completed, is often a big inconvenience.

At Tinted we’re completely mobile, and we cover all of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Hartshill and local areas. So we can visit your home or place of work, saving you a lot of time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for all the tinting work we do.

We also offer both tinted and sun strips, headlight tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.

How it works

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
  • We could need to detach the door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • When the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We’re then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?

Selecting the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it keep valuables from view?

From your responses to those questions our qualified professionals can help you to choose the right shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and gives absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let us describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles produced today come with tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to have your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the least expensive tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The finest tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signal and provides the most UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
