Tinting your car windows yourself, is often a real hassle, choosing the right brand, shade, and also just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be very difficult! Driving your car to be tinted at a local garage can often be a hassle as well, having to take some time off work, or having no vehicle for several hours while you wait for it to be completed, is often not possible.

At Tinted we’re completely mobile, and we can cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Shard End and local areas. So we will come to your workplace or home, saving you a lot of time or precious holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for every tinting job we do.

We are able to provide both tinted & sun strips, car light tints, roof and bonnet vinyl wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.

How it works

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • Once the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least a week to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Selecting the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it keep valuables out of view?

Based on your responses to these questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat & does add some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers absolute privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles made today have tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the cheapest tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The finest tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio and provides the best UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
