Tinting car windows by yourself, is often a disaster waiting to happen, selecting the best brand, shade, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be a real pain! Driving your vehicle to be tinted locally can often be a real burden too, having to take the time off work, or losing your car for several hours while you wait for it to be finished, is often very inconvenient.

At Tinted we are completely mobile, and we cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Wednesbury and nearby towns. So we can visit your home or place of work, saving you time or precious holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for every tinting job we do.

We also provide both tinted & vinyl sun strips, headlight tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.

What we do

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Selecting the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it keep valuables from sight?

Using your responses to those questions our trained specialists are able to help you to select the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and gives complete privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let us describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars produced today have tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The greatest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio and gives the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
