How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around a week to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is right for you?
Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Is it to conceal valuables out of sight?
Using your answers to the questions our trained professionals are able to help you to choose the right shade. Below are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today have tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.
If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
This tends to be the least expensive product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.
The finest tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
