What we do
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Do you want cover up valuables from view?
From your answers to these questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to select the correct shade. Below are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and provides absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are often asked about this. To start with, let us describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today have tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
Ceramic
The most superior tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio reception and provides the best UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
