How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for around a week to allow them to completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
- We’re then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.

They’ve come out and installed the tints, but due to the weather being bad, there were some issues with the tint and some air got underneath the tints. When I informed them about it, they were quick to come out and resolve the issue, even though it was freezing and raining outside. Would definitely hire them again for more tinting jobs.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re often asked about this. Firstly, let us explain the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles produced today come with tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you may nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy,respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we will not tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the least expensive product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a good option, and, will not last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The greatest tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, does not affect radio signals and gives the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
