Tinting car windows on your own, is often a real pain, choosing the right shade, brand, and also just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Driving your car to be tinted at a local garage can often be a hassle as well, having to take time off work, or having no vehicle for several hours waiting for it to be finished, is often a big inconvenience.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and we cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Loxley and local areas. So we will come to your workplace or home, saving you a lot of time or valuable holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for every tinting job we do.

How it works

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Selecting the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it keep valuables out of view?

Using your answers to the questions our fully trained professionals can help you to choose the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let us explain how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles produced today have tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The finest tint available, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio reception and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
