Tinting car windows by yourself, can be a real hassle, choosing the right shade, brand, and even just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be a real pain! Taking your vehicle to be tinted at a local garage can be a real burden too, having to take some time off work, or losing your vehicle for many hours while you wait for it to be finished, is often very inconvenient.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and we cover the whole of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Stow Heath and local areas. So we will come to your workplace or home, saving you a lot of time or precious holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.

Our process

  • You book a time slot and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We’re then able to take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Selecting the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it cover up valuables from view?

Based on your responses to those questions our qualified professionals can help you to pick the right shade. Below are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and gives absolute privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are often asked about this. To start with, let us describe how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars produced today come with tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the cheapest tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The greatest tint available, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signal and gives the most UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
