How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to remove door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.
What window tint shade is right for your car?
Choosing the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want to conceal valuables from view?
Based on your responses to those questions our qualified specialists are able to help you to select the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.

They’ve come out and installed the tints, but due to the weather being bad, there were some issues with the tint and some air got underneath the tints. When I informed them about it, they were quick to come out and resolve the issue, even though it was freezing and raining outside. Would definitely hire them again for more tinting jobs.

Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars made today have tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.
It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The most superior tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio reception and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
