What we do

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
  • We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We can then take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Is it keep valuables out of view?

Based on your answers to the questions our trained professionals can help you to select the right shade. Here are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and gives absolute privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We’re often asked about this. To start with, let us describe how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles made today have tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some it doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we will not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The most superior tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio signal and provides the best UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
