What we do

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
  • We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • When the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
  • We are then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Do you want to conceal valuables from sight?

From your answers to these questions our trained professionals are able to help you to choose the right shade. Below are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of cars produced today come with tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The greatest tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signal and provides the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
