Tinting car windows on your own, can often be a real pain, choosing the best shade, brand, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Driving your vehicle to be tinted locally can be a real burden as well, needing to take time off work, or losing your vehicle for many hours waiting for it to be completed, is often very inconvenient.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and can cover the whole of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Wellesbourne and nearby towns. So we can visit your workplace or home, saving you time or precious holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for every tinting job we do.

We are able to provide both tinted and sun strips, light tints, bonnet & roof vinyl wraps, and interior wraps.

How it works

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We could need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We’re then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

Which window tint shade is right for your car?

Selecting the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Is it to conceal valuables from sight?

Using your answers to the questions our trained specialists can help you to choose the right shade. Below are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and gives absolute privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are often asked about this. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles produced today come with tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the cheapest tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The most superior tint available, offered as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signal and gives the most UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
