Our process

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
  • We may need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • Once the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?

Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it cover up valuables out of view?

From your responses to these questions our trained specialists are able to help you to pick the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let us explain how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the cheapest tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signal and gives the most temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
